This short film was funded by Creative England and The BFI. The director, Jesse Lawrence, is a good friend of mine who wrote this script based on a real life event when he came across a dead body as a young man.

The budget was very tight and everybody pulled together brilliantly to make it work. We shot the film on the Red Epic Dragon and Cooke S5i primes provided by Films at 59 in Bristol. Focus pullers were Adam Feeney and Sean Fox, with the show kept on the road by 1st AD Kim Heron.

One of the biggest issues was getting power on location for the lights as we were in the middle of a forest. The solution was a large portable generator with long cable runs and fortunately the weather was kind to us over the shooting period.

‘If You Can hear Me’ is available to watch on Amazon Prime.
